Why the AE-TD12M-8 instead of the -4?

  1. Guys

Why wouldn't the SEOS-12 designs use the 4-ohm version instead of the 8-ohm version? Its higher sensitivity would make it a better / closer match to the DNA-360, no?

  2. Crossover parts costs go up with the lower impedance.

  3. Caps go up, but inductors go down with lower impedance, making lower impedances more affordable when it comes to low crossover points.

  4. The sensitivity is higher, but the effeciency is the same... I think I got that right ???

I like using AVR power when possible, so the 8ohm is nice. I suppose most people using that woofer wouldn't use AVR power, but still, it keeps the amps cool and happy. But I suppose you're right, nothing wrong witht he 4 ohm version.
