I'm planning to purchase two Fusion-12 Tempests, four Fusion-8 Alchemy, and one Fusion-8 Alchemy MTM for my new 7.1 HT. What I noticed is that the Fusion-12 gives the option of matte or gloss finish for the SEOS-12 waveguide but the Alchemy kits do not allow you to choose this for the EOS-8 waveguide. I think I would want the same finish for all the speakers. So, does the Alchemy EOS-8 come in different finishes? If not, from just looking at the pictures, it looks like gloss for the regular fusion-8 and matte for the fusion-8 mtm. Is that correct? I tried looking through the forum but couldn't find the answer. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place. Found lots of other interesting stuff though.
The Denovo Audio EOS-8 product description says... "The Denovo Audio EOS-8 waveguide is a very well made elliptical waveguide available in a gloss or matte finish." So they do come in both finishes but how do you specify the one you want when you order the Alchemy?
It depends on if Erich has any in stock. You might want to e-mail him and tell him you would prefer matte. If he has them, I'm sure he'll swap them for you.
I didn't want to bug Erich if someone else already had an answer but I went ahead and emailed him last night. His response was that he gets them from the manufacturer in a gloss finish. He also told me he was experimenting with spray painting them last summer. So, if someone has a desire for something other than gloss and there's some Rustoleum matte spray paint lying around, give that a try. Hope this helps someone.
