Hi everyone, I've got two pairs of Beyma 1" CD's here, CD10Nd and CD10Fe. I'd like to try them on the SEOS waveguide but I don't know if they fit, especially with respect to the exit angle that I know was optimised for the DE250/DNA-360.
Re: SEOS fit CD10Nd and CD1014Nd..? A quick search didn't turn up anything, but here's a link to the exit angles a various other drivers: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/200340-waveguides-compression-driver-exit-angles.html . I can't confirm that any of those are correct other than the BMS 4552 and the DE 250. Have you asked Beyma directly?
Thanks, Nate. I have actually and they got back saying it's 17 degrees. So that's like a 2-3 degrees difference to the SEOS throat angle - not ideal but at the same not a disaster (I hope, others may disagree). I've also got the Denovo SEOS-12 already to try out.
Did they say if that's the half angle or the included angle? If it's going to be a different angle imo you'd be better off with a shallower angle rather than wider. You'll get a bit of a "pinch" where the angle changes. Mind you, 2-3deg per side isn't much and idk the manufacturing tolerance of the SEOS wg or your cds. It might be better than it looks on paper. I'm not recommending it as I'm a bit of an extremist, but I'd be inclined to do a little sanding and filling of the SEOS throat to get a better match.
