Hello, I know the SEOS 10's should be here soon, for real this time, and I had a couple questions. I've been following you're tux 1099 project and I know there will be a TM version. My question is what are the differences between these and the Fusion Pure with the 12" horn? Obviously they won't look as awkward and I believe from what I've found they'll be about 2.5" narrower. These are of little concern to me, but probably important to the wife. I'll probably still get in trouble with even the 10" version. I might be forced to go with the Alchemy. Sound and price wise what will be the difference? What effect will going from a 12" to a 10" SEOS have on the the sound, imaging, staging? Will the 10" cross higher or will it use the same cross over? Will the price difference only be the six dollar difference from the SEOS 12" to the 10"? or will their be changes in price from the crossover. I guess you would use a little less MDF to build the narrower box, but the price of that would probably also be negligible. Will I actually have the patients to wait for the 10" SEOS kit or will I be unable to control myself? Thanks for the info! Bruce
Hey, The 10" version will be very similar, in price and performance. Just simply an update is all really. The SEOS12 is a better waveguide, which was useful in the Fusion 10, but not used to it's full potential. The SEOS10 is used to it's max potential for the updated TM. But it might actually be a few bucks more. I had to work the XO a little harder.
I cant wait for this. Question, should I go ahead and order the SEOS-10 even if I plan to order a kit when they come out? I think there is usually an option to ship without the SEOS. But would prefer to just order it all together.
Thanks.. I think I'm going to have to go with an 8" version for now until we build our house. I keep visualizing what a 12" wide baffle would look like in our current living room and I just don't see any way to get spousal approval. Now I just have to decide between the Alchemy and Minion. I haven't heard much about them compared to each other. The only thing I know for sure is the minion goes a little lower and the alchemy is a little more sensitive.
