Hey guys. I have built my modest theater room and the room is larger. 18 by 25 with 8 ft. Ceilings. I currently have Polk r400 towers (Which I love) and a cs200 center. The problem is they are having a hard time filling the room with sound. I have a pair of MFw15s and an onkyo709 receiver. I am really interested in the seos waveguide speakers mainly from hearing the rave reviews of chase home theaters sho10. Which would compare with the sho10s and which would be a good match for me.
I may need to add a few things. The speakers will eventually be behind an AT screen. That is the plan anyhow. I have been looking here at the Karma and Fusion series. My Mains speakers are Polk R400 and they only use a 5 1/4" driver, so I may be asking a bit much from them in this room.
I am not an expert here but from what I have seen it seems that even the cheapest kits are capable to fill even a large room with sound. Your Theater room is quite big though so I would chose 3 identical 10" or 12" kits for front/center and 8 or 10" for surrounds. A good plan could be to get a pair of 10" Karma or Delta Pure/Max to see how these work in your room and then either add 3 more or upgrade to 12" and move the 10" back in surround duty. In all cases you will also need at least a couple subs as none of them goes really low.
I already have inwall surrounds so they are gonna have to stay for.now. what I am really looking for is the front three speakers. I would just.like some great sounding speakers that will be great for.movies and music. I already have a pair of Mfw15 for subs so the bass should be covered.for a.while. I would lime to spend under a grand. Waf isn't too important as I hope to have them behind.a.screen in the future
The Fusion Pure uses the same woofer as the Sho10. It's been compared to the Sho10 favorably. At 97db/w/m it'll fill your room no problem, just lacks much output below 80hz. So does the sho10 though. If you have a grand to spend, and don't have any WAF considerations, you might want to go with a 12" version though. It's kind of up to you... Three Fusion Pures would be $636, but then you have things like terminal cups, paint, bondo, wiring, solder, etc. It adds up. And having a bit of dough left over never hurts. If you're planning on going with an AT screen, you could go with my in-wall version of the Fusion Max. I have a thread on it around here. If you have the right kind of wall.
